Taking in the Scenery and Making Friends at the Houston Garden Center

I hit the park in pushing and riding my stylish Dora scooter.

All that exercise sure did make me thirsty.

Stop to pose.

Here's my belly shot.

Now it is on to more serious business...stick collection.

and spending a little time with figures of more social relevance than Elvis, like Mahatma Gandhi
.

It is important, nonetheless, never to rush through life so quick that you don't stop to smell the roses, or in this case random pretty red flowers.

They tickle my nose just a little bit.

Sorry mom. I'm on the move again.

Where to next?

Off to mingle of course.

I even got to hang out with some four-legged friends.

Hey, where did everybody go?

Wow, I'm not sure, but the ceiling here sure is something.

I think this bench is just perfect for my growing stick collection.

Here I come with more.

Let me see, I need to get them all Feng Shui-ey.

I am the Queen of stick collecting.

Wait, I have yet another surprise.

TAA-DAAAH!

Just as we were getting ready to hit the road, my new friend Sophie arrived. She was my age and really showed appreciation for my stick collecting abilities.

Here dad showed us how to rub sticks together to make fire. It was pretty neat but we still eventually had to bounce to go home and get dinner.

Random Cuteness

Here I am channeling my inner baby crawling around the house.

Later in the afternoon, I don on my stunner shades and purse, ready to hit the parks.

The Asian foxes are cute, but boy do they stink.

We hopped right on the tram to get some fresh air and see other exotic furry and feathered friends.

Look mom, what's that over there?

An ostrich!

While we're rolling right along, I think I will take a minute to peruse the brochure and guess what's in store.

Look! It's the giraffe from the cover!

The camels were especially friendly.

The goats, on the other hand, ran kind of hot and cold. This little guy tried to eat mom's shorts.

I wanted to warn my new fellow toddler traveler so she could warn her mom too.

We then chatted for a minute about all things toddler... never being able to stay someplace forever, mastery of the word 'no', playing chasing and hiding games etc...

We also hatched a plot to ride a goat since we were too little for the pony rides. That, did not go over so well with the moms or the goat.

Jahara's Second Haircut and Eating Out

I finally got to meet Maria, who has been doing mom's hair for years. She introduced me to some friends around the shop.

Like the king of rock himself, Elvis.

I don't know who their decorator is, but mom we really need to look into adding this to our humble abode.

He would go great with my new big girl bed and chest of drawers, just have to move a few things around is all.

Enough chit, chat though, let's get down to business.

Shrek kept me company while Maria went to work.

When we were finished she let me pick out the color of ponytail holder and catch up on my trashy tabloid magazine reading.

Mom all this primping has really worked up my appetite.

So the next stop was Subway to grab some grub and wash it down with fruit punch.

Wow, this is a lot of work. Thank God I am here to lend a hand.

Hey mom, put down that camera and hand me the flat head.

St. Paddy's Day at the New Children's Museum

The day started out with me all dolled up in my Irish gear for lunch at O'Chapultapec with John. Mexican food is a little messy though, so I had to do a wardrobe change before hitting the new Tot Spot with mom.

Oh look, someone has been cooking plastic balls. My favorite!

I especially enjoy rolling them through this handy little people tunnel
.

Next it was on to the ball popper. Cool!

Afterwards, even though 16 is a ways away for me, I got to drive a classic car.

Thankfully this older Irish lass was on hand to help me change gears.

Look mom, I cooked up this plastic ball especially for you.

Bright lights, big city. Mom and some other mom were talking about how this was like a giant Lite Brite. I have no idea what that is, but I do know that this was fun.

Oh, there is just so much to see and do here.

Knock, knock, who's there.

Oh, it's me!!!!!!

What do you mean it is almost closing time? There better be some green soy milk in this for me.

With a few short moments left, I had no choice but to brave the slide.

Check it out! Backwards!
